Alam Batu Dive Resort lies on a rugged black sand beach in northeast Bali. It has a large house reef accessible from the shore and lies just a fifteen minute boat ride from the famous Liberty Shipwreck in Tulamben. Set in stunning tropical gardens, you will find plenty of hidden spots to laze on traditional Balinese bale which are small pavilion-like relaxing areas. The resort consists of 11 generous bungalows, 1 single bungalow, three villas, a restaurant, a spa and a great dive base with extra camera room.

Accommodation

This Bali beach resort has enveloped its accommodation options within the natural landscape and vegetation to provide the utmost privacy and seclusion; each structure nestled in greenery. The building materials give a traditional feel to this Bali beach resort and you will find it modern and clean too. Alam Batu Dive Resort has three different accommodation options; you can choose between bungalows and two types of villas.

Built from local wood and bamboo with a traditional thatched-style roof, the bungalows fit perfectly with their mountain backdrop and ocean side positioning.  There are eleven 40m square bungalows. Four bungalows are located at sea level and cooled by air-conditioning, and we recommend those as a great accommodation option if you find walking uphill challenging. The rest of the bungalows are located at a higher elevation. They catch the sea breeze so are naturally ventilated but also feature ceiling fans. Bathrooms are partially open air which means you shower outdoors in complete privacy; if you’ve never done this, it’s a lovely feeling and you’ll never forget it.

Villa Ayam offers you even more privacy. Tucked away at the top of the resort theses two villas are air-conditioned and can be booked separately or for families or friends travelling together.

The villas share a swimming pool, private gardens and plenty of relaxing space. One villa can sleep four guests, and the other can accommodate two people. Stay at Villa Ayam and you can enjoy your meals at your villa.

Near the dive centre, Villa Anton offers a more simple style air-conditioned option for two guests. Villa Anton is great if you just want to eat, sleep and dive.

Dining

Alam Batu Dive Resort’s restaurant sits on a rocky outcrop and offers never-ending ocean views; at night it looks spectacular. Food can be ordered from 7:30 am until 11 pm; breakfast is between 7:30 am and 11 am with dinner served around 7.30 pm. Expect Indonesian, Thai and international food; buffets and BBQ are regularly offered too. Vegetarian food is available.

Other Facilities

When not diving you can soak up the view at the resort’s infinity pool designed so you can feel like you could swim straight into the ocean. The onsite spa at Alam Batu Dive Resort offers massage and aromatherapy treatments, body wraps and scrubs as well as facials, manicures and pedicures. Treatments include wraps made with locally grown papaya puree or pastes made using local herbs and spices.

For more active pastimes the resort offers cultural trips as well as hiking, biking, rafting and village tours. Motorbikes are available for rent if you enjoy heading off to explore by yourself.

Diving

The underwater world in Bali offers a great variety of species. Located in the southwestern part of the coral triangle, the richness of the coral reefs is unique. More than 3.500 species have been discovered here. The greatest diversity of fish, coral, and critters is available to see here; including nudibranchs, rhinopias, ghost pipe fish, cowries, boxer crabs, mimic octopus, wonderpus and many more. The house reef is great night dive and UV night diving is also possible. The Liberty Shipwreck lies 15 minutes away by boat, and many other sites can be accessed this way too. There are also drops offs, coral gardens and of course muck diving. Every day there are 6 boat dives offered for you to choose from.

The dive centre offers plenty of space for storage and has facilities for photography equipment. Nitrox and equipment rental are available. The centre has a classroom and offers courses from PADI Open Water up to Dive Master. The team are excellent critter spotters and provide a great service with the aim of making your diving as simple and effortless as possible.
