Diving

Three to four dives are offered each day (night dives are currently not offered) on the Okeanos Aggressor I and II Costa Rica liveaboards, with all diving conducted from 22-foot pangas. Water temperatures average around 72-82°F (22-27°C) with cool thermoclines and most divers are comfortable in a 3-5mm wetsuit. The majority of the action takes place between 50-100 feet (15-30 meters) in depth, with visibility between 80-100 feet (24-30 meters).

Divers are invited to select a buddy of their choice or can dive with one of the highly skilled crew members. Detailed briefings are given at the start of each dive and a divemaster is available on each panga for every single dive. Guests should be aware that the diving is suited to those who have experienced due to its rugged nature and currents and the long journey to the island (up to 36 hours) may require precautions for motion sickness.

The Okeanos Aggressor yachts provide 80 cubic ft. tanks, weight belts and weights, with a full-line of Aqua Lung dive gear available for rent. Guests are provided with a GPS locator that operates through satellite in case of emergencies to help the rescue team locate your position.

A number of diving specialty courses are offered onboard, including Advanced Open Water, Under Water Photography and Nitrox, with Nitrox also available for certified divers at a surcharge.

The Okeanos Aggressor yachts are equipped with a complete digital photo facility that includes a PC for downloading photos. It features a strobe charging station and a large camera table for underwater photographers to work at. Photography equipment is available for rent onboard, together with free coaching from the liveaboard’s photo pro and the video professional is available to capture your dive adventure for an additional charge.
