Accomodations

Occidental Cozumel boasts 247 newly-renovated rooms within its tropical landscaped gardens filled with exotic plants, all of which offer either a king-size bed or two double beds, air conditioning, coffee makers, iDock stations and minibars.

Deluxe Room The resort’s Deluxe Rooms are found between the first and third floors, with a spacious living area, private bathrooms and either a terrace or balcony with exceptional exotic views.

Royal Level Luxury Room Royal Level Luxury Rooms are found on the first and second floors and include an extra level of distinction with a private bathroom with hot tub, terrace or balcony, together with exclusive benefits around the resort.

Royal Level Junior Suite The spacious Royal Level Junior Suites are located on the third floor, with separate living areas and a master bedroom, as well as private bathrooms with a hot tub. Guests staying in these suites are treated to premium services in keeping with the resort’s Royal Level status.

Royal Level Master Suite The largest and most exclusive rooms at the resort, the Royal Level Master Suites, are found on the third floor, with breathtaking views across the gardens. They feature a living and dining room, as well as a full kitchen and master bedroom with private bathroom. These Master Suites can be adjoined to a second room and guests are treated to the first-class benefits of Royal Level status.

Amenities

The Occidental Cozumel features three swimming pools – one for relaxation, one for activities and another for children – all of which are surrounded by tropical gardens and sun loungers to relax on. They also have a full spa which offers a range of massages, facials and beauty treatments, together with a sauna and hydromassage hot tubs.

Dining

The Occidental Cozumel boats 7 restaurants and 5 bars. It has three a la carte restaurants, two buffet restaurants and a pizzeria as part of the resort. La Posada features an international breakfast buffet and themed dinners, while the Beach Club does international buffet lunches with Caribbean Sea views. Sonora showcases Mexican dishes on its a la carte menu, while Los Olivos draws on Mediterranean influences and La Piazza stays open late for delicious pizzas. La Carreta is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner exclusively for Royal Level guests and features a fusion of different cuisines in its a la carte menu.

There are also five bars found within the Occidental Cozumel resort, including the Lobby Bar, the poolside Relax Bar and Pool Bar, and the oceanfront Beach Club Bar. There is also an adults-only La Mision dance club with DJs playing until late each night.

Other Activities

The Occidental Cozumel has a Kid’s Club for those travelling with children which includes fully supervised activities and access to their playground, as well as two tennis courts, a beach volleyball court and a fully equipped gym. Water sports on offer include kayaking, windsurfing, water polo and sailing, in addition to unique dolphin encounters and swims.

The Occidental Cozumel can also organize excursions to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Mayan ruins at Tulum and Chichen Itza.

Diving

Occidental Cozumel’s on-site Pro Dive Mexico center operates daily dive trips to explore the Palancar Reef which forms part of the Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park. Their highly experienced team offer fun dives for all experience levels, as well as PADI certification courses and equipment rental for your next Cozumel dive vacation.

There is a large choice of dive sites within a short boat ride from the resort, with visibility around Cozumel usually between 80-100 feet (24-30 meters). Water temperatures are inviting year-round, ranging from around 77°F (25°C) in the winter to 85°F (29°C) in summer.

Parrotfish, angelfish, nurse sharks and sea turtles are all commonly found here, together with ocean sunfish and yellowtail amberjack. Night dives are also extremely popular, offering divers the chance to witness bioluminescent plankton sparkling around, crabs, octopus, lobsters and eels which are rare to see during the day.
