Dining

Arenui believes that even when sailing around remote islands, there’s no reason to forego fine dining. The food is plentiful, fresh, and centred on local and flown-in ingredients. Their internationally trained chefs add their own touch of magic, drawing inspiration from local and international cuisine. In addition to mouth-watering buffet spreads, they also offer a-la-carte choices with daily menu changes. Even lovers of gourmet cuisine are sure to discover new taste experiences. Soft drinks, water, tea, American/Balinese coffee are all complimentary.

One of the key features of the Arenui, the expansive restaurant and lounge area takes up the central space on the main deck and reaches across the full width of the vessel. At one end you’ll find a large counter for buffets and snack items, as well as tea and coffee facilities. Below this you’ll find well-stocked wine fridges, as well as cold soft drinks and juices. A large assortment of seating gives diners plenty of options whether they prefer to eat in a big group or alone with a loved one.

Amenities

Amenities include a first-rate library with an excellent collection of books on the local area and marine life, as well as a diverse selection of books. To cater to different tastes they have over 100 movies to choose from, to watch in the lounge area or, for those with an individual DVD player, in the privacy of your own cabin.

The Arenui really distinguishes itself from other liveaboards by offering luxurious spa treatments; relax in seclusion under the Spa Tent or relax out on the deck where you can listen to the tranquil sounds of the sea splashing on the hull. You can choose where you’d like to receive your complimentary half hour welcome massage.

For those who are looking for simpler pleasures, there are also deck chairs and sun loungers on the sundeck as well as in the outdoor lounge. Take some time to lie back and soak up some rays, or sip a cocktail, while watching the sun descend below the horizon across the calm waters of the Indonesian archipelago.

Diving

When it comes to the dive itineraries, the Arenui has chosen the best dive sites and the best times of year to explore these world famous destinations. There are up to 4 dives offered per day with 2-3 dives on the first and last diving days.

To showcase the best of Indonesia, the boat spends the May to October months mainly around the Komodo National Park area, taking in dive sites and landscapes from Bali right across to Flores and Alor. In November they move towards Ambon in Maluku and the Spice Islands in the Banda Sea, working their way to the Raja Ampat area of Western Papua to continue dive cruises from December through until April.

The marine biodiversity is simply staggering in these areas. There are many drift dives due to the moderate currents prevalent in the area, which provide nutrients for the myriad of fish and coral. There are walls, reef flats, slopes, sea mounts, lagoons and pinnacles. The reefs are in pristine condition and offer endless views of perfectly formed hard corals and a wide variety of species of colourful soft corals. Komodo National Park is an important natural refuge and is known worldwide for the overwhelming amount of flawless corals that can be found there, not to mention the mantas, sharks, turtles, dolphins, dugong and many other pelagic. Whether it is pelagics you are after, muck-diving, drift dives, walls or pinnacles, there truly is something for everyone.

Guests who are shooting digital photography may view their images on one of the two computers (MAC or PC) provided for their use in the lounge. There are ample camera tables located at the front of the lounge for handling and setting up equipment. There are individual cubby holes in the diving area with 110V and 220V sockets conveniently located just above your dive gear. ‘Camera only’ rinse buckets for the exclusive use of the photographers onboard are also provided.

Specialty dive courses are available at an additional cost, as well as Nitrox and dive rental equipment.
