Meet the Team

Meet our team of dive travel professionals that are ready to answer your questions and make your dream dive holiday come true:

Irene Beck
Irene is our Manager – she ensures the office runs smoothly and that no detail is overlooked. She attended BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) to earn her Hospitality & Tourism Management Certificate and her Certified Travel Manager’s designation. Having been in the travel industry for over 28 years, and with Fly & Sea since 1998, there’s not much Irene can’t do. Irene design’s the most unique experience for her clients and loves that there’s always something new and exciting going on in the travel world that they can go and experience. The highest compliment you can pay her is to come back to her to book your next trip.

Petra Hermes
Petra is the head Director of all things Dive Travel. Petra has extensive first-hand dive travel knowledge, having been deeply submerged in the industry since 1990. She co-founded Fly & Sea Dive Adventures back in 1997 and is our go-to for anything travel and dive related.

Michelle Dalton
Michelle joined us back in January 2018 and is a dive instructor. Michelle has extensive diving knowledge and more dives under her belt than the rest of the staff, combined. She handles many of our individual bookings and continues to come up with new ideas for the unique dive trip combinations that Fly & Sea offers.

Barb Verkerk
For several years Barb has been crafting many individual trips for the most discerning dive travellers. She is also the friendly voice often answering our phone. You can rest assured that Barb will take great care of your dive trip.

Dominique Loren
The friendly voice most often answering our phones – Dominique joined us in January 2026. She handles our client communications and reservations for the group trips. Your reservation is in good hands with her.

Julie Barrett
Julie is our Accountant who keeps our finances in order and has been working with us for over 27 years.

Kate Prysiadko
Accurate invoicing is Kate’s specialty. From assisting Julie with all things accounting, Kate also ensures all our invoicing is in order. She joined us in 2024.

Rick Heydel
Rick joined Fly & Sea Dive Adventures in 2012 with an emphasis on working with and developing partner relationships with U.S. dive retailers and travel sellers. He retired from active sales at the end of 2016 but is still consulting, running group trips, as well as teaching exclusive dive travel business courses. Rick developed the Fly & Sea Dive Adventures Dive Travel Business Course, and Dive Travel Partner Program. He is a former professional underwater photographer and has been a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer for over 20 years.
