Depending on the season, itineraries include both, the Philippines (including Tubbataha Reef, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and Palau, known for its wrecks and pristine coral reefs.

Tubbataha Reef is synonymous with beautiful reef scapes and gin-clear waters. Expect drop offs and big fish action as you tour Jessie Beazley Reef, Malayan Wreck, Delsan Wreck, Shark Airport and the very aptly named Washing Machine. Solitude One offers both seven days / six night and ten days / nine night tours.

In Palau, the Solitude One offers eight days / seven night and eleven days / ten night trips. Explore the German Channel, Blue Hole, Peleliu Wall and many more highlights. Expect amazing biodiversity, pristine reefs, wartime wrecks and dizzying drop-offs adorned with the rare and beautiful.

Cabins

There are ten cabins made up of three different types of accommodation on board. All are beautifully appointed with polished wood, and each cabin is ensuite with ample storage facilities. Individual air-conditioning controls offer comfort in each cabin. Safety deposit boxes, bathrobes, towels, hairdryers, reading lights and toiletries are provided as standard. Cabins are cleaned daily, and linens replaced every three days.

The Staterooms have a king sized bed and a day bed. These rooms are suitable for two people, but a child can occupy the day bed if you are travelling as a family. The deluxe cabins have a twin and double configurations two of which have the extra day bed for children if required. A standard cabin sleeps four over two bunks and two singles.

Taller guests can often struggle on liveaboards, but the Solitude One offers ample headspace and 6.5ft length mattresses to ensure a comfortable nights rest.

Dining

The dining room is open air, and delicious food is served buffet style. The finest ingredients are used to create a choice of mouth-watering dishes with something to suit all tastes. Outside of meal times, you’ll find a range of snacks available should you get hungry in between dives or even in the middle of the night. Special diets are catered for, but please make sure your scuba diving travel agent passes on your requirements when you book.

The bar is stocked with wine, beer, and spirits that can be purchased for an extra cost. Tea, coffee, water, and light snacks are freely available 24 hours a day and included in your tariff.

Amenities

Solitude One offers plenty of space to relax, socialize, suntan and just enjoy the view. The lounge offers both comfy chairs for you to sink into as well as tables and chairs where you might like to challenge your shipmates to games. The polished wood sundeck is furnished with comfortable loungers, and the open air dining room boasts the best views for you to enjoy along with mouth-watering food.

For entertainment, you can enjoy a book from the loan and exchange library or watch a movie either in your room or the lounge from the on demand system. Card and board games are available for use too. Satellite internet, phone and messaging services are available, but these incur an extra cost.

Your last day is a non-diving day, but the crew will take you to the famous Jelly Fish Lake and Milky Way. While this tour is both complimentary and optional, should you wish to go you will need to pay the US$50 permit fee to visit. A truly unique experience that should not be missed.

Diving

The dive deck was designed using the combined experience of 100 years of diving. There is ample space for 30 divers, each having their own station and storage. The liveaboards skiffs add ease and comfort to the diving day seamlessly linking you to the dive sites. Dives are guided on a 1 to 6 ratio, but a private guide is available for an additional cost.

On a typical day, you can expect a light breakfast before your first dive, followed by a proper breakfast upon surfacing. There will be a dive afterwards, followed by lunch and then another dive. An afternoon snack will be served before night diving followed by dinner.

Equipment, including computers, can be hired with tanks, weights and SMBs being complimentary. Tanks are both DIN and international and extras can be supplied if you are diving side mount; this does incur and extra cost. Nitrox is available for an extra charge and rebreathers can be accommodated but please consult with your scuba diving travel agent for more details on this. In accordance with their very high standards of safety, guests must be equipped with an audible locator, most commonly a whistle, as well as a dive computer and a personal location beacon. Solitude One recommends the Nautilus Lifeline GPS; these can be ordered on your behalf for purchase and use on your liveaboard vacation. Ask your scuba diving travel agent to help you arrange this.

Photographers and videographers will love the facilities onboard. A complete refurbishment has allowed the vessel to provide the essentials you require appropriately and not as an afterthought. The air-conditioned digital darkroom is on the main deck next to the lounge and provides plenty of space for prepping and storing cameras. There’s plenty of space for charging, and computer terminals mean you don’t need to bring your laptop onboard. Your equipment is safeguarded when charging by surge protection and the room provides UPS sockets. The area is covered by CCTV for your peace of mind. Supplementary to this dedicated area you will find dedicated camera rinse tanks and a setup table on the dive deck.
