Cozumel Hotel & Resort by Wyndham (formerly Hotel Cozumel) is a diver’s haven. The value you get for your money is unlike anywhere else in the Mayan Riviera. It is a charming resort with an excellent location, made up of three Mexican style buildings surrounding a lovely pool and garden area.
Cozumel Hotel & Resort, a 4 star resort, is located just a short walk from downtown San Miguel. All of the 181 rooms are air-conditioned, and have balconies or patios, so you can enjoy the gorgeous Mexican sun, from the privacy of your room. 3 different room categories are available to choose from. Standard rooms are basic yet spacious and tastefully decorated with 2 double beds or 1 king sized bed. The junior suites are a little larger and all feature a private jacuzzi on the balcony. The master suite has a dinning room for 6 people, kitchen, king sized bed in the master bedroom, 2 doubles in the second bedroom, plasma TV and walk in closet. This hotel features a spectacular pool area with jacuzzi, four bars, three restaurants, a tennis court, a “kid’s club”, WIFI, and an open air gym. There is also a private beach club with a restaurant and lockers for dive equipment, private pier, and a fully equipped dive shop. There is a pool table, ping pong table, and karaoke. Deep sea fishing excursions are also available. Hotel Cozumel has nightly entertainment, but if that’s not quite enough for you, the resort is only a ten minute stumble away from the city center.
Don’t let yourself indulge too much in nightly entertainment though. You want to be fresh and alert for the incredible diving! Be sure to check out the Beach Club as well. You’ll find 150 lockers close to the water so you don’t need to lug all your dive gear back to your room once you are done diving for the day.
Get ready to suit up, get neutral, and enjoy a relaxing ride while you pass underwater caverns, pinnacles, swim through’s, and gorgeous reefs. You can generally expect to see large schools of angel fish, barracudas, turtles, nurse sharks, eagle rays, urchins, sea horses, eels, sponges and maybe even the elusive Splendid Toadfish. Most Cozumel diving is done from boats and is drift diving.
Dive Paradise, Cozumel Hotel’s onsite dive shop, provides safe, reliable and fun filled scuba excursions. They offer the largest fleet of boats and the widest variety of dive trips on the island. Whether it’s a night dive, cave or cavern dive, reef, pelagic, drift or advanced dive you are after, Dive Paradise has a massive menu of dive packages available and incredible sites to explore. Safety is key here, and the boats are always filled with space in mind. Most boats are well equipped and designed to carry many more people than they allow, simply to allow their guests to enjoy getting geared up with plenty of room.
Cozumel Hotel & Resort by Wyndham is a clean, well rounded resort that caters beautifully to divers and non-divers alike. A fantastic hotel for divers with a non-diving partner!
