Tufi is a tourist paradise just waiting to be explored.

This 27 room boutique resort is nestled on top of a Fjord with 180-degree panoramic views of the sea and the only fjords in Papua New Guinea. Tufi is located at Cape Nelson in Oro Province some 80 miles due east of Kokoda and not too far from the Milne Bay and Oro Province border. Tufi not only offers pristine reefs and amazing underwater macro but also a range of exciting adventure activities, with everything from bat caving to deep sea fishing, bush and nature walks where many species of birds are seen, kayaking as well as snorkeling trips for non-divers and overnight village stays. The adjacent mainland areas have a rich local cultural heritage and a scenic beauty that has to be seen to be believed. Local tribal villages give visitors an insight into indigenous culture, through a range of specially designed cultural activities. Tufi offers a truly cultural experience that no other resort has to offer from outrigger safaris, treks to remote locations, to cultural shows and overnight stays in village guesthouses.

Experience the orchids (Tufi is home for many of the worlds most exquisite orchids), birds and butterflies of the rainforest and lowland areas through guided bushwalks and overnight treks that are as outrageously beautiful as the underwater scenery enjoyed by divers.

Diving

Experience an unspoilt pristine paradise that offers good diving all year round. The fjordlands open onto pristine blue tropical waters of the coastline of Oro Province and Cape Nelson with many uncharted reefs, underwater WWII dive sites and stunning marine biodiversity. There is a ribbon reef system running parallel to the shore, not unlike the Barrier Reef in Australia, with the nearest reef (excluding the famous House Reef which is 3 minutes from the resort) being only 15 minutes’ boat trip away. The reefs come up out of nowhere from a depth of around 600m, hence the unreal visibility. There is abundant fish life, with large schools of pelagics, Such as a variety of tuna, spanish mackerel, barracuda, white tip reef sharks and the uncommon white hammerhead sharks. Manta and Eagle Rays are often lazily cruising by.

The best time is from October through mid-June for the really flat seas.

When travelling to Tufi Dive Resort you virtually fly right into the resort. Tufi staff will meet and greet you upon arrival.
